Body Butter Cream That’s Easy DIY For All People

Non-Greasy Body Butter Effortless Guide

Hello there! You’ve stumbled across the instructions for a DIY how-to for making your own Whipped Body Butter Cream, more especially the Pure Sunshine Cocoa Body Butter Cream, created by Nina, and inspired by The Nerdy Farm Wife, Jan Berry, from her book “The Big Book of Homemade Products For Your Skin, Health, & Home,” founder of The Blog “The Nerdy Farm Wife,” as well. Welcome all, people with dry or cracked skin on hands or fingertips, sensitive hypoallergenic skin types (easy to become allergic breaking out in swelling, hives, redness, and itchiness of the skin), and those looking to heal skin tissue that cuts, scrapes, and burns damaged, specifically hair burns from a hot tool like a hair curler (but FYI do not use this cream on any open wounds, please wait till new skin tissue has regenerated so you’re working with a newer layer of healed skin and consult your skin doctor before using this cream, if you have any skin conditions addressed or not addressed proper to using). That disclaimer is not to scare you, but, to encourage you to ask more questions before trying something you read that helps on the internet, or go with what you research by listening to your body. Most often, we are the key holders to knowing what truly can be wrong with us because we can track our symptoms, measure what works and hasn’t in the past, try new simplified things for our skin, and consult with a professional who can tell if it’s something they’ve seen before or what in their best opinion is the right treatment. This is my 101 Skin Cream being used for my fragile skin and it turned out great, except gotta work on the aroma and fine-tune that! For now, I’ve mixed it with my Cocoa Vaseline Lotion to aid in the smell and the essential oils of which are recommended the Sweet Orange Essential Oil, Lavender, and Vanilla Absolute Oil (especially, the Vanilla, oh-so-fabulous! (Cocoa & Vanilla are a dream combination).

INGREDIENTS:

  • Dried Rosemary, Eucalyptus Herbs (only a little of Eucalyptus), Hibiscus, Dandelions, and Chamomile Flowers to make 1/4th cup or (3g).
  • Shea Butter
  • Refined or Pure Cocoa Butter
  • Grapeseed & Sunflower Oil
  • Essential Oils such as Sweet Orange, Lavender, or Vanilla Absolute

Once you’ve got everything necessary for cooking, we shall begin with the simple steps to create the amazing product!

DIY Body Butter Cream Formula

Yes! The cream you see in the navy blue containers is the special stuff. First, you’ll need the tools to make your Body Butter, such as a measuring glass, measuring spoons, two glass bowls, a spatula, a stirrer, a mixer, a spoon, and one makeshift double boiler (or you may also alternatively use a heatproof “wide mouth pint” jar of 500 ML and a saucepan. It’s recommended to use separate tools apart from your cooking station to avoid any sort of mixture of the two. But, for this first time just make sure you triple wash everything you use. Simply, you can buy some glass bowls at the dollar store and even a measuring cup, so maybe start there. Okay – now you’re ready, let’s begin!

The steps for making the lotion are the following:

  1. Mix your Herbs and Flowers until they make 1/4th in your measuring cup. Remember, only a sprinkle of Eucalyptus (because this will make for a very tingly lotion), an extra small handful of the Dandelions & Hibiscus, and a regular amount for the Rosemary and Chamomile (See benefits of each property down below).
  2. Add your tbsp of Grapeseed and Sunflower Oil together to the bowl.
  3. Add Shea butter to the mixture.
  4. YES!! The Cocoa is so important! Add the Cocoa portion. Stir together.
  5. Given how quickly you can add these ingredients together, set your stove on very low heat for 30-50 minutes. Add the bowl of ingredients to the makeshift double-boiler or heatproof jar in the saucepan for the time allotted. Stir occasionally. For the jar method, “place the jar in a saucepan containing a few inches (at least 5 cm) of water, forming a makeshift double boiler” (Berry Pg. 87).
  6. After the 45-50 minute mark, the ingredients should have liquified and turned to a buttery color and consistency. Perfect!
  7. Remove from heat and strain the mixture into a new glass bowl. Now, put in the fridge for 45-50 minutes (the book did say 30-35 minutes, but I found that the consistency of the butter did not harden in that time, so add time accordingly). What you’re expecting to occur is like I previously mentioned, the butter to harden so you can whip to make the cream.
  8. Once hardened, remove butter from the fridge and begin whipping “with a hand-mixer on medium-high to high speed until the texture is light and fluffy” (Berry Pg. 87). At this point if the consistency seems to not hold and form into a thicker cream, then, place the bowl back in the fridge for additional time. It is suggested for 5 or 10 minutes to then whip again.
  9. Add your amazing essential oils and “beat the mixture for another 30 seconds, or until completely incorporated” (Berry Pg. 87). So, add the drops of the Sweet Orange (as many as you’d like or stick to the recipe if you enjoy the smell), and add the Vanilla Absolute Oil 10-15 drops, or as the recipe says 14. This can be interchanged with Lavendar, whichever you prefer finest.
  10. The consistency should be “Whipped Like” and you’re ready to spoon (or knife!) your Body Butter however best you see fit the product into some small containers, plastic or glass is preferred. Be sure to 100% sanitize the casing for what you’re using to store your cream by washing in the dishwasher, handwashing thoroughly, and dissolving in isopropyl alcohol for clean casing. Before doing this, know it’s important for the shelf life of Body Butter to be stored in a “cool, dry place out of direct sunlight” avoiding contamination from any kind of water (Berry Pg. 87). So let the casing dry thoroughly before using it at storage for your now cool cream. (Note: when water is introduced to products there is room for mold to grow and typically hand-made lotions or the like are water-based and require preservatives!! Luckily, your Butter Cream doesn’t require the use of water and the predictability for shelf life is 6-8 months or more.

And that’s how you create your Homemade Organic Pure Sunshine Cocoa Body Butter Cream. If it’s still not smelling right, you can mix some Cocoa Radiant Lotion when applying. There are multiple benefits we’re going to get into with each Herb and Flower, let alone your cocoa lotion. First, it can protect the skin against harmful UV rays of sunlight, and prevent aging by improving blood flow within the skin, fades dark spots and good overnight cream for red spots from scrapes or damage to the skin, and is super good for dry skin like those that suffer with eczema, and it moisturizes very nicely hydrating for that plump effect.

Simple Benefits Found in Herbs & Flowers

Different Flowers and Herbs and Their Benefits

There are some amazing benefits to be sourced from the Herbs & Flowers we just used. And if you didn’t create the cream, then, you’re here for helpful insight into what exactly these babies do for your overall wellness. Here, we’ll list each out again:

  • ROSEMARY: Not only can this Herb give you a youthful glow with a dash in your Body Butter Cream, but it helps with skin conditions like rough, dry, and ashy skin to appear more soft and smooth avoiding any puffiness. (Note: “If you’re experiencing any sort of wellness in your body or parts of your skin, perhaps checking out doing a Lymphatic drainage, or, I can cover more of this Wellness Topic in a blog post” -Nina).
  • EUCALYPTUS: Herb is high in antioxidants, “particularly flavonoids, which protect your body from oxidative stress and free radical damage” (Davidson, “7 Impressive Benefits of Eucalyptus Leaves” 2019). Has been known for centuries to disinfect wounds and help provide healing long term. Also been said to treat acne, reducing the appearance of redness. Although you may experience a more tingly effect if you use more of this in your cream, some people particularly don’t like that lasting effect, so, use it with discretion.
  • HIBISCUS: Ever wanted a clear complexion? This dark violet flower can improve skin tone and even out the skin. The skin can be firmed and it also serves as an exfoliator so when new skin forms, it can help with the little cells that regenerate to become new.
  • DANDELIONS: Moisturizes the skin containing Vitamins A, C, and E, and proves to help with the aging process, so preventing wrinkles and aged marks. Helpful to use on saggy skin. Remember, I wouldn’t use this thick cream on the face only on the body skin.
  • CHAMOMILE: A wonderful tea to aid in sleep like melatonin, this pretty flower (Matricaria chamomilla) “is antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory. Chamomile has been shown to have a mild cortisone-like effect and is often used in lotions, creams, salves, and other products to help relieve rashes, irritated or red skin, and eczema” (Berry Pg 11). Reduces stress and anxiety in the body, so by applying your skin is feeling the benefits of that self-care.

Healing Leg From Hair Iron Burn

The picture on the left is the afterresult of 3 days of using the Pure Sunshine Cocoa Body Butter Cream. Do we think it’s helping? Positively? (: The right photo is me applying it almost like a roller so just the right amount gets on to heal. It was darker, redder, and inflamed. Now, it’s less and evening out it looks like.

DIY Lip Care Treatment

Organic Lip Stain in a Dark Red color? I think absolutely! Including some oils to make for a well-lip kit, look out Kylie Cosmetics, here I come! Jk…. but already start this cool project after creating your Body Butter, and let’s see how it turns out. Of course, what ingredients I’m using is a secret, but I’ll update you when posted. We’re going to take the same Herbs & Flowers you already have and listed above, except also get Dried Roses, which you can purchase below via Amazon or here. and infuse them with Sunflower & Grapeseed oil for 4-6 weeks, storing them in a cool, dry space out of direct sunlight. This is the “Traditional” method for infusing all good stuff to be ready for concocting this regimented Natural Lip Product with a rouge color. It’s not being made if there’s no tint to the shade, it’s already been decided. You can use a large mason jar and fill the Herbs/Flowers one-fourth to one-half of the way, however much you decide to use when making your Lip Stain. And then, “fill the jar, almost to the top, with your chosen oil” (Berry Pg. 18). We’re calling this one the Dark Cocoa-Rose Lip Balm Tint (LBT). The combination of Herbs/Flowers used for this specific lip balm tint is for soothing dry, cracked, and chapped lips while simultaneously providing color as in a make-up substitution. Has anti-inflammatory properties and uses hypoallergenic Grapeseed Oil to prevent swelling of lips (“Had a couple of severe allergic reactions to something in my make-up and wanting to create a product conscious of people’s allergies and sensitivities” -Nina) and Sunflower Oil – high in vitamins and good for damaged skin. You’ll also need to buy some Lip Balm Tubes, to be honest, Amazon has a great selection so I’d purchase them here, or below.

To Do Better Lifestyle

It’s already been discussed how to reform your old habits quickly on the internet a bunch of times, but, what if it could happen overnight? Yes. Each day is a new day to start over and rewrite the chapter. Not saying that if you don’t already like the chapter you’re on – you can Continue. But, for the rest of people. habits take anywhere from 15-20 days to form and all it takes is a single realization in the middle of the night you can rearrange your life, your schedule, and the rest of your meetings into one simple way. If your life is a mess, let’s fix that. Continue being the bombshell or A1 stud you are, but, take some personal time to take some me-time as well. Constantly serving others and being the “epitome of grace and excellence” as a past employer might say, maybe not so much anymore as we’re constantly evolving, hoping to do better than the last time. This is not just for the person writing these sentiments but for friends and family of the person down in the dirt and person high on life. Yes, you! Just because you’re on a stage performing for your peers and coworkers, let alone “friends” doesn’t mean you can’t make a mistake and improve one step at a time. Simply, being. Be Kind To Yourself. But then, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move on in the steady right direction. It’s hard to continually keep moving and by yourself – but you’re not alone, you’re with God. So. If you know it or not, someone’s keeping their eyes on you. Even through the hurt and struggle of people’s backhanded comments, compliments, or creepy innuendos, women got it tough too. The best can do is relate to one another, but instead of a “Misery Loves Company” type way, more of a *Laugh it off* “Hey! Does this dress look good?” kinda way -Nina.
